The new comedy “Tropic Thunder” will be released in theaters tomorrow Wednesday, August 13, 2008 is already facing controversy and the movie didn’t even come out yet. Ben Stiller wrote, directed, produced and starred in this number one summer comedy.

Extra Entertainment News reports that a group of people believe that Ben Stiller over did it with this film.  There is repetitive use of the word “retard” in the movie. Simple Jack is played by Ben Stiller and referred to as a retard throughout the movie.  So many coalition groups such as Special Olympics and the American Association of the People with Disabilities took great offense of this and want to boycott the movie because of it.

During the premiere which took place on Monday night at the Bruin Theatre, the actors, Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. had to walk past many protestors and people holding up signs to “ban the movie” according to Extra Entertainment News.

These special groups are outraged and are furious with Stiller for writing it. They said that this movie is poorly done and very tasteless from the beginning to the end. They do not want to be portrayed as mentally disabled and hate the word retard. They feel like they have been discriminated against, and just want to be treated like everyone else reports Celebrity News.

Celebrity News says that Dream Works will not be making any changes to the film at all. It will remain the way it is. This is a Comedy and it should not be taken literally. People should understand that it is just laughs, and was not meant to offend anyone.
